THE OPTIMAL SAUNA VISIT
HOW DO I PLAN AND STRUCTURE AN OPTIMAL SAUNA VISIT?
For all sauna fans, the St. Kathrein Thermal Baths are a true paradise! Because the thermal baths have much to offer – both inside as well as outside, our guests will find saunas and relaxation options for each taste. Beginning at 40 °C and reaching a maximum temperature of 90 °C, everyone will get his money’s worth here. Even the infusion schedule is changed daily. Research has repeatedly proven that visiting saunas upon a regular basis strengthens one’s immune system and invigorates one’s circulation. As experts in our specialised field, we would be glad to advise you on optimally planning and structuring your sauna visit.
WHAT BELONGS IN MY SAUNA BAG?
WHAT MUST I KEEP IN MIND DURING MY SAUNA VISIT?
Thoroughly clean your body before entering the sauna facility. Cleaning your body is recommended not only for hygienic reasons, but rather also for the removal of the disruptive greasy film during sweating and then dry yourself off well because dried bodies sweat better. Do not enter the sauna with an empty or a full stomach.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I VISIT THE SAUNA?
In order to attain a long-longing effect from using the sauna, it is recommended to visit a sauna once to twice per week, but, after visiting a sauna only once, you will already feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
WHERE DO I OPTIMALLY SIT IN THE SAUNA?
First and foremost, your physical well-being counts – search for a spot to sit where your body feels good. The higher that you sit, the higher the temperature. It is recommended that you begin in Row 2. However, during your sauna visit, you can move to a different spot at any time.
HOW LONG DOES AN INFUSION LAST?
As a rule, an infusion lasts between eight and twelve minutes. From the classical perspective, the infusion consists of three infusion phases with the subsequent wedeling episodes. Of course, the sauna may be left early during an infusion.
HOW DOES THE PERFECT SAUNA VISIT LOOK?
Overall, the healthy sauna visit consists of four phases. During the first phase, there is the showering. Before entering the sauna facility, take off your bathing clothes and instead clothe yourself with your sauna towel or a bathrobe. Before entering the sauna, shower once again and dry yourself off well. During the second phase, you will be inside in the sauna, the heating phase. The length of your stay in the sauna will always depend on your personal preference. If you are still a “rookie” within the sauna, we recommend that you remain no longer than 15 minutes in a 90-degree sauna. Sit down in a position in the sauna which gives you a comfortable feeling and allow yourself to become calm and quiet because good relaxation works only with calm and silence. During the third phase, there is the cool-down. After you have left the sauna, you should once again shower off – optimally with cold water. At the end of the sauna visit, there is the relaxation phase. Allow yourself just as much relaxation time how you have taken for your sauna visit in order to enhance the effects of the rejuvenation. It is important to drink a lot of fluids during a sauna visit.
